Teaching style & philosophy:
In my teaching, I always address the student's needs, abilities and difficulties by recognising that they are a unique individual. With this philosophy, my teaching also places emphasis on self-expression: on helping students find their own words for their ideas, knowledge and interests. A related aspect of my teaching philosophy concerns creativity. I passionately encourage independent thinking and personal interpretation wherever possible. My creative approach also includes innovative ways of breaking up topics and information. Learning should be fun. Finally, my overall teaching style is characterised by patience, and by allowing time for new material to work away in a student's mind at a pace that is right for them.
Additional information:
Besides art and literature, my hobbies include travel, discovering new places by walking nearer to home, and cooking (and eating)—all of which broaden the mind and feed into my approach to teaching. I live in London and am able to teach there in person or online further afield.
