Teaching style & philosophy:
Eleanor is a graduate in both Science (BSc) and Humanities (MSc), and holds a further MSc in Public Health. In her own school years she was awarded one of the top five marks nationally for English Literature GCSE. Her teaching background has seen her working with a wide breadth of students over many years, from age 4 through to undergraduate level. She has coached students for 7+, 9+, 11+, ISEB Pre-Test, 13+, GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB Diploma examinations, as well as teaching in full-time homeschooling roles. She specialises in Maths and Science tutoring, working most closely with students from GCSE through to A Level and IB Diploma level.
Eleanor has spent significant periods of time working abroad, and in her free time enjoys involving herself in any projects relating to the fields of Population Health and Health Humanities. She also has experience in the Science Communication and Museum sectors. Eleanor is a warm and encouraging tutor, and in turn is thoroughly invested in the immediate and longer-term successes of her students. She remains committed to driving students to achieve top marks, and to helping discover their own respective academic passions in turn.
Additional information:
SPORT
I lead an active lifestyle and enjoy a range of different sporting pursuits. These include netball, running, hiking, yoga and diving. I have also recently taken up ballet.
TRAVEL
I have been fortunate to spend extensive periods of time living and working abroad. I have been permanently based in Honduras, Hong Kong, France and Spain. This has allowed me to gain a much richer understanding of respective social and cultural histories, identities and norms, while at the same time exploring surrounding regions. I also spent time completing French and Spanish language classes during these periods.
RESEARCH + OTHER
I enjoy involving myself in any projects related to the field of Population Health, and also maintain an active interest in the museums and heritage sector — especially those tied to the study of science and health. I enjoy bringing my health research background to life through creative non-fiction work and, entirely separately, am currently honing my Nordic baking skills.
