Teaching style and philosophy:
As an experienced French and Spanish teacher, my teaching philosophy is rooted in creating an engaging and supportive environment where students feel confident to explore and develop their language skills. I take a personalized approach to each student, understanding their unique strengths and areas for improvement, and tailoring lessons to meet their goals—usually that’s academic success.
I believe language learning should be dynamic and enjoyable, so I incorporate interactive methods such as conversational practice, cultural immersion, and multimedia resources to bring the language to life.
My teaching style emphasizes real-world communication, helping students build fluency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through a balance of structured grammar exercises and creative activities, I aim to foster both mastery of the language and an appreciation of the cultures in which it is spoken.
Above all, I am committed to helping my students progress at their own pace, ensuring they gain both confidence and competence in French or Spanish.
Additional information:
I spend my time between London and my family home in Nîmes, in the south of France, and I teach primarily online. I have three children, one of whom studies French and Spanish at Cambridge University and one who is doing French and Spanish A levels. Outside of teaching, I am an avid gym-goer, maintaining an active lifestyle that helps me stay focused and energised for my students.
