Teaching style and philosophy

The student comes first! Flexibility is key: Joseph must be able to adapt to the needs of each student if he is to empower them to reach their full potential. He would always prefer to mentor or facilitate a student's learning rather than be an authority figure: however, in some cases, where the student needs discipline, focus, and leadership, Joseph is more than happy to adapt his teaching style to this. He likes to bring creativity and play into his sessions, where appropriate, as these tend to, in his experience, change the way a student might feel about learning. I also have experience working with children with dyslexia, both as a tutor and because my Mum and Sister are both dyslexic.

Additional information

I am an actor, so I really value communication and getting to know individuals on a personal level. I'm a football enthusiast, and am always seeking recommendations for great theatre, TV, film, and video games, and like to incorporate all of these into my lessons where I can. I am also a fluent French speaker. I'm currently based in Loughton, which is on the eastern end of the Central Line. I'm happy to work across London.
