Teaching and tutoring experience
I have extensive experience with undergraduate and postgraduate university applications and Oxbridge interviews, having worked with the company Oxbridge Applications for several years now. Specifically, I have helped many under- and postgraduate university applicants with personal statements, motivation letters, required written work, and interview preparation. I have also conducted 50+ hours of mock interview sessions with Oxbridge applicants, coached interview strategy one-on-one, and led interview preparation workshops with larger groups of students.
I have extensive experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level Geography, working with the companies Griffin & Bell, Blue Tutors and New Channel Education (China). Mainly, I have conducted one-on-one tutoring sessions with students needing help with key concepts in geography (any and all modules), essay writing, revision strategy, and exam technique. I have helped many students attain A and A* grades in exams and coursework assignments.
Through the company Blue Tutors, I have worked with several undergraduate students on essay writing and coursework assignments, helping them reach first-class grades.
I now work full-time as an English teacher at Beka's School in Tbilisi, Georgia. I also teach English as a second language to several private clients.
Teaching style and philosophy
I am a friendly and engaging tutor with experience in a wide variety of teaching and learning environments. I have worked with students of all ages (from primary school to degree level), and take great pride in their progress. I am a flexible teacher, tailoring my approach to fit each student's individual needs and preferences. Most school students face enormous time pressure nowadays, so I try to be as efficient and targeted as possible during my sessions. Moreover, I always want my students to feel welcomed and accepted, not criticised. I emphasise a growth mindset, encouraging students to ask questions and simply do their best. That way, my tutoring sessions feel more collaborative and less judgemental.
