Teaching experience:
I started teaching at After School/Saturday Morning drama clubs as an acting, dancing, and singing coach. I then volunteered as a Mathematics teacher for the Clement James Centre to gain experience before I started as a private tutor. Since 2020 I have been working as a Mathematics tutor both for home-schooling and after-school lessons, whilst holding some private singing and acting coaching sessions. I am very proud to say, this past results season I saw all of my students achieve their goal grades at GCSE and A-level and the students applying for university earned their top choice places!
Teaching style and philosophy:
I believe my love for Mathematics and acting training work exceptionally well in tutoring environments. I aim to understand the individual and work with how they function best. My Mathematics degree means I can break topics down to their core to ensure a full understanding. It's important to me that students understand topics deeply as opposed to working through a series of check-boxes for upcoming tests and examinations. My major aim for students is building confidence as mathematicians and performers, but mainly as young people. I always want to encourage my students and help them to realise their full potential, so they can take that into the outside world, as well as developing into avid learners.
Additional information:
As stated before, I trained as an actor after my mathematics degree, so I pursue both careers. I love Film, Theatre and fitness and I believe those passions have made me a well-rounded teacher for young people. I like to inspire, encourage and use analogies I've drawn from my love for sports, fitness and being an actor. I am based in Earls Court so I tend to teach in West London and Southwest London. I'm also looking for a few online lessons.
