Teaching and tutoring experience

I have worked as an educator for over 15 years specialising in Mathematics and Science tuition for schools, companies, NGOs and private clients. I have experience teaching all age groups from preschool to 1st year university. I can teach all sciences to GCSE level or equivalent, and have been teaching Maths and Physics to A Level and IB for over 15 years.

Teaching style and philosophy

I am passionate about Maths and Science education. I fully believe that the subjects should be approached with enthusiasm and the students must be involved in the learning process. I strongly encourage my students to ask questions and I always explain the reasoning behind answer structure for exams and coursework. I am always happy to elaborate on answers or clarify if there is any confusion. I like to promote a relaxed and informal atmosphere during my tuition sessions to make the learning process as comfortable and effective as possible.

Additional information

I am dyslexic, and take a special interest in working with neuro-diverse students. I move between Newcastle upon Tyne and Newbury, but all my classes have taken place online since 2020.
