Teaching and tutoring experience

Isobel was an art scholar at school, and went on to study Modern and Medieval Languages at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Since graduating in 2008, Isobel has worked extensively with students across contexts, both within and beyond the classroom. Specialising in the Humanities, she trained as a teacher through the prestigious Teach First graduate programme, teaching at both KS1 and KS2 level in a primary school in Croydon. She was rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Since leaving full time teaching Isobel has worked with students as a tutor and mentor. Alongside offering academic support, she has a high success rate with school entry at 7+ and 11+, to include Trinity School, St. Paul’s and St. Paul’s Junior (previously Colet Court), Emanuel and Westminster Cathedral School. Isobel’s experience also includes supporting older students, particularly with exam technique and essay writing, preparing for Oxbridge entrance.

With over 15 years’ experience of working with students Isobel brings a passion for learning and commitment to creativity to all her sessions. As a practising artist-researcher with a PhD from the Slade, she brings a fresh approach to the subjects she teaches, fostering curiosity in the students she works with. Isobel has lived in Paris and Lisbon and frequently exhibits her work in London. She is based in Walthamstow.
