Teaching and tutoring history

Bev has been teaching for 24 years, 14 of those in the United Kingdom. She have worked with all age groups, but for the last 8 years she has taught Year 4 at Redcliffe School in Chelsea, where she also heads up the English department.

Bev loves working with children and helping them to progress in their learning, develop their skills and grow in confidence. She has a good sense of humour and always tries to add an element of fun to her lessons. Having had her own children, Bev feels that she has a good overall understanding of children and what motivates them.

Bev believes that every child has the potential to achieve, whatever their academic ability. She gets to know children as individuals and works hard at encouraging them to build confidence in their own abilities, to develop their individual talents and to help them to manage any challenges they may face.

She has had wide experience working closely with children of all ages and abilities, and has a thorough working knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum, in both the independent and state sectors - including preparing pupils for 8+ and 11+ exams.

Bev is reliable, punctual and organised and she always enjoys a new challenge. She believes that her experience working in various other fields (Journalism / PR / Event Management) adds a global dimension to her teaching. Bev is widely travelled and an avid reader – she is therefore able to use her own personal experience to add value to her lessons.
