Teaching history:

I have over 1000 hours tutoring experience over the past seven years in Maths, English, History, Latin, Greek, Philosophy. I've worked with students from ages 7 up to adult learners, with a particular recent highlight being teaching a professor at a Dutch university Latin.

As well as experience preparing students for the major public examinations, I have particular experience with schools and Oxbridge admissions. I've helped students gain admission to Eton, St. Paul's, Westminster, Winchester, Oundle, Dulwich, Oxford and Cambridge.

Teaching style & philosophy:

I'm a patient and encouraging tutor, with an ability to make sure students stay focused whilst not feeling too constrained.

Studying at Oxford has put me in regular contact with experts in my field and importantly has given me extensive experience of the tutorial system. Learning to defend and concede my thesis has taught me the value of students learning in collaboration with their teacher and not simply from rote. In my own tutorials, I generally aim to ask students questions and gently guide them to the answers or down interesting avenues. I find that this can inspire a deeper understanding and enjoyment of the subject.

Besides helping students with both tactical and content-based preparation, it is also important to me that students leave lessons feeling enthused and excited to do the extra groundwork outside of their sessions—either pursuing reading I have suggested, practising, or simply talking to their friends and family about their interests, I have experience tutoring both individuals and groups, including access programmes. Regardless of the size of the group, I ensure that every student receives tailored and specialised guidance.

Additional information:

I've undertaken various work and internships in law (Freshfields;various mini-pupillages), consultancy (founding member of the consultancy Koralli) and NGOs (Generation Medics).

I am able to teach in person in London as well as online.

In my free time I enjoy playing tennis and squash, cooking Italian food and watching old movies.
