Teaching and tutoring experience

I've taught A level Maths and Physics for 5 years. Additionally I've taught IB Physics for 2 years. I've also tutored a student in the TSA during their application to Oxford. My students typically achieve A or A* grades depending on their ability.

Teaching style and philosophy

I aim to focus lessons on underlying concepts and theories that can help across subjects and topics. Usually this starts with building up some fundamental pure Maths topics before slowly building up to more complex content, utilising examples and working through problems together. I get my students to explain what they are doing to me verbally so that they can be sure they know what is actually going on in each step.

Additional information

I teach 2nd year Maths modules to Materials Science undergraduates at Oxford (Fourier series, transforms, ordinary differential equations, tensors).

I play piano, go ballroom dancing, and I have a blue belt in brazilian jiu jitsu.
