Bev Bell
HEAD OF PREP SCHOOLS
Bev has been teaching for 24 years, 14 of those in the United Kingdom. She has worked with all age groups, but for the last 8 years has taught year 4 at a prep school in Chelsea where she also heads up the English department.
Bev loves working with children and helping them to progress in their learning, develop their skills and grow in confidence. She has a great sense of humour and always tries to add an element of fun to her lessons. Having her own children, she feels that she has a good overall understanding of children and what motivates them.
Bev believes that every child has the potential to achieve, whatever their academic ability. She gets to know children as individuals and work hard at encouraging them to build confidence in their own abilities, to develop their individual talents and to help them to manage any challenges they may face.
Bev has had wide experience working closely with children of all ages and abilities, and a thorough working knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum, in both the independent and state sectors - including preparing pupils for 8+ and 11+ exams.
Bev has also been undertaking Dyslexia Teaching training with the British Dyslexia Association for the past two years, which has provided her with the insight and experience required to get through to students of all ages struggling with dyslexia.
She is reliable, punctual and organised and always enjoys a new challenge. We believe that her experience working in various other fields (Journalism / PR / Event Management) adds a global dimension to her teaching. She is widely travelled and an avid reader – therefore able to use her own personal experience to add value to her lessons.
